Hurricane Milton 2024

Thursday October 10, 2024
Hurricane Milton update

Emerald Lakes got lucky; Hurricane Milton shifted north late yesterday afternoon moving away from us, it made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, Wednesday night as a Category 3 storm. It has since weakened to a Category 1.! looks like we weathered really well through the storm with minimum damage.  Landscapers and tree trimmers will be out today to start clean-up & removal in Emerald Lakes, all debris left lying around.

Collier County public utilities:
Due to the power outage, our wastewater system has been affected. Please cut back on toilet flushing and wait to run the dishwasher and washing machines.

The power is still out, FPL informed us at 8:00am this morning, they are working on the problem, however there’s 175,000 customers without power.

Collier County Sherriff:
The City’s driving curfew was lifted at 7:30 AM.
There are numerous areas of the county that are impassable or extremely hard to navigate. Drivers shouldn’t try to drive on the roads today out of an abundance caution to avoid the flooding roads, as well as to give emergency crews a chance to clean up and debris removal, to ensure the roads will be safer to navigate.

Hurricane season is here:
Time to review/update your emergency action plan. If you will not be in town make sure you have homewatch or a trusted neighbor who will monitor your property and can check on your unit after a storm. This is not something the Property Manager can do for your individual unit. The manager and your Board will be busy with common property damage and clean up. efforts.
